The ARROW report is
a tool, developed by the Outcomes & Recovery Blending (ORB) committee, to complement the current Ohio Consumer Outcomes
Point-of-View (POV)
report. Specifically, it was designed to assist consumers and
agency provider staff in charting a course of Recovery.
The ORB committee
worked thoughtfully and methodically in the construction of this new
tool. Beginning with the actual Ohio Mental Health Consumer Outcomes
survey items, the committee categorized specific items into each of the
various components of recovery.
The recovery components consisted of the nine essential components in
the Emerging Best Practices in Recovery Process as well as other factors
that research frequently cited as important to consumers in their
recovery.
Recovery components were then
categorized into levels of need based upon Maslow's
Hierarchy of Needs.
Completing this task allowed for the development of a report structure
that identifies those areas perceived to be most problematic and then
orders the items based upon an expected, preferred strategy for
addressing each. Most importantly, the new ARROW report provides
examples of activities associated with each of the items to assist
consumers and the agency staff with whom they are working in developing
strategies to further their recovery.
In addition to
the ARROW report, project staff have developed the following web-based
